MUSIC PORTFOLIO
audio sample - 归宿感
A good all-around example of my work in The 7 Music Studio as well as my personal music career, this is a song titled 归苏感 (GuiSuGan) that I wrote about the city Suzhou, where I made my home in China. I independently handled every part of this song’s creation, from the initial songwriting up to the publishing process, with the only exception being I did not take the photo used on the cover art, and the song gained some recognition, including a cultural award from the city’s television station. The artist name, 戴天乐, is my Chinese name.
Video sample - 夜空中最亮的星
The above is a music video I helped produce for a song I recorded with my band, 歪果仁 (WaiGuoRen, a play on the Chinese word for ‘foreign’). The song is titled “The Brightest Star in the Night Sky”, and I did not write the lyrics, but I did the arrangement, recording, and performing as seen above. This sort of project was very fun to work on, and was usually well received.
Video sample 2 - 平凡之路
The video above is one of the more successful that I released, and while I did not produce the video, the audio is, as you can see, entirely my work. It is a cover of a song called 平凡之路 (PingFanZhiLu), a song by 朴树 (Pu Shu) that was in a popular movie at the time. The image to the left was taken soon after release, and the number at the top right represents over 100,000 current active viewers. The video amassed several million views across various platforms.
ALBUM SAMPLE - wHOSE YOU
This is an example of an album released by a band I was a part of called 猫头音 or “Owl and Boys”. The album is called “Whose You”, and most of the songs were written by myself and the lead singer Qiqi.
